Claire's Baptism

Sweet baby Claire was baptized at 4 months at our church, Highland Park United Methodist Church by Reverend Rasmussen. It's the "parent" church of our previous church home, St. Andrews UMC, where Jonathan and I were married and where the boys were baptized. It's a much closer drive, and it's a good church home. We were overjoyed to dedicate our baby girl to Christ and loved having so much of our family with us to celebrate.

Claire's godparents are Dave Stanfield and Sami Volcansek and we love them both! I cannot say enough good things about them; Sami is wife to Godfather (for the boys) Luke and mother of Lucy, Claire's bff. She is a girly-girl, a happy and loving soul, and a woman of faith, and we know she will love Claire and Claire will love her! Dave is J's childhood friend whom we greatly admire; a man of God with strong values and we love his family too! We frequently talk about how grateful we are for such wonderful friendships, and couldn't ask for more perfect godparents for all of our babies. We only wish they all lived closer - England (Godmother Beth), Wyoming (Luke&Sami), and (soon) the Netherlands (Godfather Dave).

After church we went to brunch at La Duni, so good! Here are a few pictures of the day:

Heavenly Father, thank You for our precious Claire. We know that she belongs to You and we thank You for entrusting her to us. We dedicate her life to You and know that You keep and watch over her.  Lord, help us as her parents to guide her and bring her up to know and serve you. Give us wisdom and patience. Bless her abundantly, Lord, make her path straight and let her faith be strong. We have so many hopes and dreams for her, God, but most of all I wish for her to have love for You and for others. Amen.
